OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 7th Year No. 34 ADDIS ABABA - 28th June , 2001 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 246/2001 Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Loan Agreement for Financing the Addis Ababa Inter national Airport Project Ratification Proclamation Page 1537 PROCLAMATION NO . 246/2001 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE LOAN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE KUWAIT FUND ARAB ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS , a Loan Agreement , between the Federal Arab Economic Development stipulating that the Kuwait amount of KD3,100,000 ( three million one hundred thousand Kuwaiti Dinar ) for financing the Addis Ababa International Airport Project , was signed in Addis Ababa , on the 22nd day of WHEREAS , basic economic international agreements have to be ratified prior to entry into force ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of Loan Agreement at its session held on the 28th day of June , NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Loan Agreement for Financing the Addis Ababa International Airport Project Ratification Proclamation No. 246/2001 . ” Unit Price The African Law Archive No. 34 28 June , 2001 – Page 1538 2. Definition In this Proclamation “ Loan Agreement ” means the Loan Agreement No. 607 signed , in Addis Ababa , between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Kuawit Fund for Arab Economic Development , on the 22nd day of December , 2000 . 3. Power of the Minister of Finance The Minister of Finance is hereby empowered to undertake all acts necessary for the utilization of the loan amount of KD 3,100,000 ( three million one hundred thousand Kuwaiti Dinar ) in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Loan Agreement . 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 28th day of June , 2001 . Done at Addis Ababa , this 28th day of June , 2001 .
