A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE LOAN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC WHEREAS , a Loan Agreement , between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Italian Republic stipulating that the Government of the Italian Republic Provide to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia a loan in an amount not exceeding 220,000,000 Euros Gilgel Gibe Il Hydro Electric Project was signed in Addis Ababa on the 4th day of April 2005 ; WHEREAS , House Peoples ' Representatives of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has ratified said Loan Agreement at its session held on the 13ch day of October , 2005 ; NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Article 55 Sub Articles ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows ; 1. Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as “ Italian Republic Loan Agreement for the Gilgel Gibe Il Hydroelectric Project Ratification Proclamation No.472 / 2005 . ” Unit Price The African Law Archive Ratification of the Agreement The Loan Agreement signed in Addis Ababa on the 4th day of April 2005 between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Italian Republic is hereby ratified . Power of the Minister of Finance and Economic Development The Minister of Finance and Economic Development is hereby empowered to undertake all acts necessary for the utilization of the Loan amount of 221,000,000 Euros ( two hundred twenty million Euros ) in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Loan Agreement . Effective Date The Proclamation shall enter into force on the 17 day of November , 2005 .
