OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 7th Year No. 7 ADDIS ABABA - 8 December , 2000 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 225/2000 Peace Agreement between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the State of Eritrea Ratification Proclamation Page 1437 PROCLAMATION NO.225 / 2000 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE PEACE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF ERITREA WHEREAS , the Peace Agreement between the Govern of the OAU and other third parties , has been submitted to be ratified by the House of Peoples ' Representatives ; WHEREAS , the Agreement reached at by the two protecting the national interests of Ethiopia and peace of the Region ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives has ratified said Agreement at its session held on the 81 " day of December , 2000 ; NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Sub - Articles Democratic Republic of Ethiopia , it is hereby Proclaimed as follows : Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ Peace Agreement between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the State of Eritrea Ratification proclamation No.225 / 2000 ” . Ratification of the Agreement The House of Peoples ' Representatives , having ratified the Agreement has delegated the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to sign the Peace Agreement with the Government of the State of of Eritrea . 3. Effective Date This Proclamation shall come into force as of the date on which the Agreement is signed by the Governments of the two States Done at Addis Ababa , this 8th day of December , 2000 .
