OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 7th Year No. 2 ADDIS ABABA - 304 November , 2000 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 220/2000 Investments Promotion and Reciprocal Protection Agreement with the Government of the Republic of the Sudan Ratification Proclamation Page 1427 PROCLAMATION NO 220/2000 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE AGREEMENT ON THE PROMOTION AND RECIPROCAL PROTECTION OF INVESTMENTS WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN WHEREAS , an Agreement , between the Government Government of the Republic of the Sudan , on the Investments promotion and Reciprocal protection was signed in Khartoum on the 7th day of March 2000 ; WHEREAS , it is stipulated in the Agreement that the latter date on which the Governments of the contracting constitutional requirements for the entry into force of the Agreement have been fulfilled ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of Agreement at its session held on the 30th day of November , NOW , THEREFORE , in accordance with Sub.Articles ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of Article 55 of the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows ; Short Title This proclamation may be cited as the “ Investments Promotion and Reciprocal Protection Agreement with the Government of the Republic of the Sudan Ratification Proclamation No. 220/2000 ” . Ratification of the Agreement The Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protec tion of Investments signed in Khartoum on the 7thday of March , 2000 between the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Government of the Republic of the Sudan is ratified . Power of the Ethiopian Investment Authority The Ethiopian Investment Authority is hereby em powered to implement the Agreement . 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 30th day of November , 2000 . Done at Addis Ababa , this 30th day of November , 2000 .
