OF THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA 7th Year No. 11 ADDIS ABABA - 16 " January , 2001 CONTENTS Proclamation No. 229/2001 International Development Association Credit Agreement for Financing Emergency Recovery Project Ratification Proclamation Page 1458 PROCLAMATION NO . 229/2000 A PROCLAMATION TO RATIFY THE CREDIT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA AND THE INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION WHEREAS , a Credit Agreement , between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the International Development Association stipulating that the International ( one hundred eighty million two hundred thousand Special Drawing Rights ) for Financing Emergency Rcovery Project , was signed in Washington D.C on the 21 " day of December WHEREAS , basic economic international agreements have to be ratified prior to entry into force ; WHEREAS , the House of Peoples ' Representatives of Credit Agreement at its session held on the 16th day of January , 2001 ; NOW , THERFORE , in accordance with Sub - Articles ( 1 ) and ( 12 ) of Article 55 the Constitution , it is hereby proclaimed as follows : Short Title This Proclamation may be cited as the “ International Development Association Credit Agreement for Finan cing Emergency Recovery Project Ratification Proclamation No. 229/2001 . Definition In this Proclamation “ Credit Agreement ' ' means the Credit Agreement Number 3438 - ET signed in Washing ton D.C. on the 21 " day of December 2000 , between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Inter national Development Association . Power of the Minister of Finance The Minister of Finance is hereby empowered to undertake all acts necessary for the utilization of the credit amount of SDR 180,200,000 ( one hundred eighty million two hundred thousand Special Drawing Rights ) in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Credit Agreement . 4. Effective Date This Proclamation shall enter into force as of the 16 " day of January , 2001 . Done at Addis Ababa , this 16 " day of Jaunuary , 2001 .
